360WThe additional work arising in 1981–82 from the increase in the numbers of both basic and higher rate taxpayers, and from certain other changes in the Budget, will be entirely offset by savings, including some arising—because of the non-indexation of personal allowances—from the removal of any need for a PAYE recoding. Overall, no additional staff will be needed in 1981–82.
