§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will make a statement on the Government's policy towards increasing the European Economic Community Commission staff dealing with anti-dumping applications; and what representations have been made to the Commission on the issue.
§ Mr. ParkinsonWe believe that the Commission must have sufficient resources to carry out its duties in the anti-dumping field. My right hon. Friend the Financial Secretary to the Treasury argued strongly for this at the Budget Council last year and we understand that there is shortly to be an increase in the numbers allocated to this essential work. We shall continue to press for any further strengthening of staff that may be necessary.
