§ Mr. Peter MorrisonStatistics of the numbers of hours lost through short-time working are available for operatives in manufacturing industries in a selected week in each month which has been chosen to avoid public holidays. In the following table averages of the appropriate weekly figures have been grossed up to provide quarterly estimates of working days lost in Great Britain, assuming an eight-hour working day and a 13-week quarter.
