§ Mrs Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will investigate why nearly half of all complaints against police officers are withdrawn.
§ Mr. WhitelawI have at present no plans for such an investigation, but I have noted the recent comments of Sir Cyril Philips, the new chairman of the Police Complaints Board, on this subject.
