HC Deb 17 March 1981 vol 1 c69W
Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) whether, having regard to the current level of unemployment, he will introduce legislation to impose minimum holiday entitlement for all employees;

(2) whether, in view of the current levels of unemployment he will seek to ensure a shorter working day, working week and working life.

Mr. Peter Morrison

[pursuant to his reply, 16 March 1981, c. 27]: No. Any action which raises unit labour costs would weaken the competitive position of British industry and have an adverse effect on employment.
