§ Mr. Denis Howellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement about the implementation of part II of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 and the public availability of registers indicating the nature of discharges being made into rivers and waterways.
§ Mr. KingNo decision has yet been taken on this, but I am keeping the matter under review. Meanwhile water authorities will continue voluntarily to make information publicly available about effluent and river quality.
