§ Mr. Charles Morrisonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the level of consumption of butter specially subsidised by the European Community for use by charities, Service men and institutions such as hospitals and old people's homes; what is the cost to the Community of the sale of this subsidised butter in the United Kingdom; and whether he is satisfied with the present arrangements for publicising the existence of this scheme.
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithIn 1980, 6,302 tonnes of butter were sold to such organisations in the United Kingdom. The subsidy borne by the Community was about £6.6 million. The arrangements are adequately publicised.
