§ Mr. David MitchellIn the calendar years 1979 and 1980 over 5,000 unfit dwellings were closed or demolished; nearly 50,000 repair, intermediate and improvement grants were paid in respect of houses in the private sector; 2,600 dwellings were improved by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive or housing associations; and almost 14,000 new houses were completed.
