§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for Energy at which locations further work under the Government's combined heat and power direct heat feasibility programme will be carried out.
§ Mr. John MooreThe Government have carefully consdered the interim report on stage 1 of the programme, and taken into account the comments which participating local authorities have made on it. We have decided, particularly in the light of these comments which have indicated a high level of interest in the subject, that it is appropriate to carry out the more detailed feasibility work in more areas than was originally envisaged when the programme was announced. Accordingly, the further work will commence as soon as possible in the following nine areas:
- Belfast
- Edinburgh
- Glasgow
- Leicester
- Liverpool
- London (East/Central)
- Manchester
- Newcastls
- Sheffield
