§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Prime Minister why the price of Her Majesty's Stationery Office publication"Health and Personal Social Services Statistics for Wales" increased from £5.25 for the 1979 edition to £20 for the 1980 edition.
§ The Prime MinisterThe increase in price mainly reflects the increase in cost of having the publication printed. In 1979 HMSO was able to take advantage of a favourable offer for production; this was no longer available in 1980. Cheaper methods of production are being sought for future use.
HMSO is urgently reviewing its publishing pricing policies, with a view to moving to a more market-orientated policy.
