Mr. Farr

asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) upon what date he expects to commence the construction of the bypass of East Norton on the A47 in Leicestershire, as was approved by both the Leicestershire county council and the Department of the Environment in 1979;

(2) whether he will abandon his present proposals to speed up traffic through the village of East Norton on the A47 in Leicestershire, and concentrate his efforts and available finance on the provision of the already approved bypass instead.
