§ 21. Sir Anthony Meyerasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he will consult his European Economic Community colleagues with a view to achieving closer industrial co-operation in Europe.
§ Mr. TebbitI am satisfied that adequate arrangements already exist for discussion of industrial issues in the Community and have no plans to institute specific consultations on closer industrial co-operation with my Community colleagues. The Treaties of Paris and Rome seek to bring about a state of free and fair competition and to improve the working of the market. My consultations with colleagues in the EEC are directed to these ends.
