§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many 18-year-olds have not yet had a full-time job in (a) Wolverhampton and (b) the West Midlands as at 12 February.
§ Mr. Peter Morrison[pursuant to his reply, 5 March 1981, c. 169]: At 12 February, the provisional number of unemployed people aged 18 years in the Wolverhampton employment office area who had not entered employment since completing full-time education was 232. The corresponding figure for the West Midlands Region was 2,224. The hon. Member will know that last November my right hon. Friend announced a major expansion of the youth opportunities programme to help unemployed young people.
