§ Mr. HeseltineA number of private individuals and organisations representing the interests of disabled people have written to me stressing the importance of adequate access to buildings. I am examining the effectiveness of the access provisions of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970. Meanwhile, I commend the British Standard code of practice for access for the disabled to buildings (BS 5810: 1979) to developers and designers of buildings.
