§ Mr. RaisonSince the publication of the British Nationality Bill on 15 January the Home Office has received seven representations on the Bill from residents of Gibraltar as at 2 March 1981. There has also been a petition to my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister signed by a large number of residents.
168WThe replies to the letters have made it clear that while the Government do not feel able to grant Gibraltarians British citizenship, this in no way affects the relationship between Gibraltar and the United Kingdom or the Government's commitments and obligations to it.
