§ Sir William Elliottasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether, in view of the announcement by the Secretary of State for the Environment on 17 December 1980 of plans for the joint Departments of the Environment and Transport regional offices, he proposes to make any changes in his Department's regional organisation.
§ Sir Keith JosephYes. I propose to transfer Cumbria from the Northern to the North-West region, the remaining parts of the Northern region to be known as the North Eastern region, with effect from 1 April 1981. No other changes are contemplated.
