§ Mr. HurdThe Foreign and Commonwealth Office has a total of 16 cars and 19 vans in the United Kingdom and 860 vehicles in overseas posts. Rules governing their use are those established by the Civil Service Department for all Government transport.
The annual total running costs for the vehicles in the United Kingdom, excluding vehicle purchase but including the cost of drivers' salaries, is about £375,000. The overseas fleet running costs, including replacement, servicing and administration, will amount to about £6 million in 1980–81.
