HC Deb 03 March 1981 vol 1000 c79W
29. Mr. James Lamond

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many new hospitals have been built in the North-West region since 1948.

Dr. Vaughan

One new hospital has been built in the North-Wesiern regional health authority's region since 1948: the Royal Preston hospital, which is to open later this year.

The majority of hospital developments in the region have taken place on existing hospital sites.
