§ Mr. Woodallasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is now in a position to make a further announcement about the designation of an enterprise zone for South Kirkby, Wakefield.
§ Mr. KingA statutory invitation under the terms of schedule 32 to the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980 was today issued to the city of Wakefield metropolitan district council to prepare a scheme with a view to designation as an enterprise zone of some 140 acres at Langthwaite Grange, South Kirkby, Wakefield. Copies of the invitation are being placed in the Library of the House. The statutory procedures of consultation and then the hearing of representations will begin shortly.
