asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether the rate of allowance payable to participants in the Northern Ireland job release scheme will be raised in parallel with those payable in Great Britain announced by the Secretary of State for Employment on 26 February.

Yes. Following review of the rates of allowance under the job release scheme the allowances to be paid in Northern Ireland as from 6 April 1981 will be as followsDisabled men 60 to 63; £59.00 per week, taxed, for married applicants with dependent wife whose net income from all sources does not exceed £11.00 per week. £47.50 per week, taxed, for all other applicants. For men aged 64 and women aged 59; 50.50 per week, tax free, for married applicants with dependent husband or wife whose net income from all sources does not exceed £11.00 per week. £40.00 per week tax free, for all other applicants.
