§ 46. Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for Employment in how many cases trade unions so far have made use of public funds for secret postal ballots as provided for in the Employment Act 1980.
§ Mr. WaddingtonI am informed by the certification officer, who is responsible for its administration, that since the introduction on 1 October 1980 of the scheme made in pursuance of Section 1 of the Employment Act 1980, one union has received payment from public funds towards the costs incurred in holding a secret postal ballot.
