§ 69. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the fact that three students scaled the walls of Buckingham Palace gardens and spent the night therein, and were not apprehended, and the police have decided to take no action against them, he will cause a thorough investigation to be made into all aspects of this matter.
§ Mr. RaisonThe Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis is consulting the palace authorities about the possible need for changes in security arrangements in the light of this incident. He is satisfied that the motives of the three young men, who believed they were in Hyde Park, were wholly innocent and that there were no grounds for taking action against them.
