§ Mr. RifkindWith the publication on 16 June of its proposals for parliamentary constituencies in Strathclyde region, the Boundary Commission's provisional recommendations for Scottish constituencies are now complete. These will in many cases be the subject of local inquiries by assistant commissioners. Against a requirement to produce its final report by April 1984, I understand that the commission expects to do so before the end of 1982. It will be the Government's intention to bring the necessary orders giving effect to the reports of all four commissions before the House as soon as possible after all the reports have been received.
