HC Deb 29 June 1981 vol 7 c259W
Mr. Charles Irving

asked the Prime Minister whether she is satisfied with the progress of the Department of Health and Social Security in developing policies to assist single homeless claimants as promised in the review of the supplementary benefit scheme.

The Prime Minister

The report of the supplementary benefits review team recognised that further study was needed on the problem of people without a settled way of living. We are at present considering how best to carry forward its proposals for a more wide-ranging review of policy in this area, in the light of the recent legislative changes and other developments since 1978—when the report was published.
