HC Deb 29 June 1981 vol 7 c266W
Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will continue to press the European Economic Community Commission for action to take account of the problems of the United Kingdom high alloy steel industry beyond the duration of the present Community measures which are due to expire on 1 July.

Mr. Tebbit

I discussed this matter with Vice-President Davignon in Luxembourg on 24 June and urged on him the need to continue the present guideline arrangements after 30 June. The Vice President assured me that he had every intention of doing so.
