§ 21. Mr. Bulmerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects to receive recommendations from the chairman of the Farm Animals Welfare Council for the improvement of conditions under which farm animals are slaughtered.
§ Mr. WigginI understand that the council's consideration of welfare at poultry slaughterhouses is well advanced and that it hopes to turn next to the welfare of animals at red meat slaughterhouses. I cannot say when the council's report will be completed.
