§ 24. Mr. John Townendasked the Lord Privy Seal how many British firms have had assets nationalised by the Sri Lanka Government and have not received full compensation.
§ Mr. HurdAssets of 60 plantation companies and the Colombo Gas and Water Company were nationalised by the Sri Lanka Government in 1975. Compensation for the plantation companies is being paid in instalments, the final instalment being due in September. Compensation has already been paid for the Colombo Gas and Water Company.
