§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Prime Minister whether she will consider the appointment of one or two extra Parliamentary Under-Secretaries to the Welsh Office so that the treatment of the Principality is nearer to that being given in administration for Scotland.
§ The Prime MinisterI see no need to expand further the size of the ministerial team at the Welsh Office which was, of course, increased by one in the mid-1970s. The Secretary of State for Scotland is responsible for a wider range of functions, covering a larger population.
