HC Deb 19 June 1981 vol 6 cc469-70W
Mr. Loveridge

asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether any change will be made to the cash limit for the Department of Industry's Central and Miscellaneous Vote, Class IV, Vote 18, to accommodate costs associated with the launching of the business opportunities programme and with improvements in the small firms services as announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer on 10 March.

Mr. MacGregor

Subject to parliamentary approval of the necessary Supplementary Estimate, the cash limit is to be increased by £1,060,000 from £48,667,000 to £49,727,000.

This increase is made up of £560,000 for the development of the small firms services and £500,000 for publicising the business opportunities programme. The additional expenditure will be incurred on publicity, advertising, publications, conferences, and associated general expenses. It is intended that this further support will be contained within the Department of Industry's existing public expenditure provision.
