HC Deb 19 June 1981 vol 6 c471W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) what was the projected cost of the delayed extension to Altnagelvin hospital in 1981 prices; and whether he expects any savings to result from the delay;

(2) when he now expects the extension to Altnagelvin hospital to proceed.

Mr. John Patten

The extension to Altnagelvin hospital would have cost £10.7 million at 1981 prices. The question of savings does not arise because there is a commitment to go ahead with the scheme once funds are available.

It will proceed as soon as resources can be made available. This will not be at least until after 1984.
