HC Deb 17 June 1981 vol 6 c375W
Mr. Pollock

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he last met representatives of the Scottish National Farmers Union to discuss the problems of poultrymeat producers; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Younger

My officials are in regular contact with the Scottish Farmers Union on the problems of poultrymeat producers. The Government are very much aware of the difficulties which exist and are determined to ensure that, in the free Community market which applies to poultrymeat, competition with imports is on a fair and equitable basis.
