HC Deb 16 June 1981 vol 6 c344W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, North-East on 11 March, Official Report c. 353, what progress has been made in his Department's discussions with the National Nursery Examination Board concerning the recommendations of the report of inquiry into the training that it provides for nursery nurses.

Dr. Boyson

The scope and pace of the implementation of the report is a matter for the board and it is making progress. I understand that it has agreed a new constitution in line with the report's recommendations and it is engaged in negotiations with the Technician Education Council with a view to developing a ladder of qualifications embracing the NNEB certificate.
