HC Deb 16 June 1981 vol 6 c322W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will now seek to amend the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 by making mandatory upon providers of public buildings adequate access and toilet facilities; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Rossi

It is already mandatory under the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 for providers of public buildings to make provision for access and toilet facilities for disabled people, where it is reasonable and practicable to do so. A Government amendment has, however, been tabled to a Bill at present in another place to strengthen this provision.
