HC Deb 15 June 1981 vol 6 cc265-6W
27. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will give, at the latest and most convenient stated date, the actual or average wait for patients to be admitted as in-patients to hospitals for examination, in the London region; what such waiting lists are for the Westminster and Charing Cross hospitals; whether and on what basis Members of Parliament and former Ministers have priority at such hospitals over those who have been on the waiting lists for periods of upwards of six months; and how such priority of entry and treatment is organised.

in England and Wales at the latest date; what the respective percentages are; and what they were in May 1979.

Mr. Peter Morrison

[pursuant to his reply, 12 June 1981, c. 144–5]: Following is the information:

Dr. Vaughan

There is no waiting list for emergencies. On the most up-to-date information, the average waiting times for the four Thames regions were between 12 and 14 weeks. Information on waiting times at individual hospitals is not available centrally. There are no special arrangements for admission or priority for hon. Members and former Ministers.
