HC Deb 12 June 1981 vol 6 c223W
Dr. Edmund Marshall

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what factors make the figures of constituency electorates given to the hon. Member for Upminster (Mr. Loveridge) 8 May, Official Report, c. 158, readily available which do not apply in the case of the figures requested by the hon. Member for Goole to whom the Minister of State replied on 5 June, Official Report, c. 446.

Mr. Mayhew

The information requested by my hon. Friend the Member for Upminster (Mr. Loveridge) was not readily available. We undertook to provide it, however, as it referred to only 84 proposed constituencies. The hon. Member for Goole requested similar information in respect of 408 constituencies. This could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
