asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what consideration he is giving to the introduction of a single benefit for 16 to 19-year-olds; and if he will ensure that such a proposal would not be introduced until after public consultation.

The Government are keeping the arrangements for financial support for 16 to 19-year-olds under review but have no plans at present for changes.
