§ Mr. Humphrey Atkins[pursuant to his reply, 9 June 1981]: Of the 916 prisoners currently serving sentences for terrorist-type offences in Maze cellular prison 409, about 45 per cent. are refusing both to wear prison-issue civilian clothing and to work. Another 14 prisoners are refusing to work.
Five prisoners are refusing food. They are co-operating with the doctors, but are refusing medical treatment.
This information does not include 328 prisoners housed in Maze compound prison.
