HC Deb 11 June 1981 vol 6 c182W
Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consideration is being given by his Department to the encouragement of firms of bailiffs to offer their services to magistrates' courts, to help in the collection of unpaid fines.

Mr. Mayhew

It is for the magistrates' courts to decide what use to make of bailiffs. However, a working group of officials is reviewing what kind of help might most usefully be given to the courts in improving fine enforcement procedures generally.
