asked the Chancellor the Exchequer what is his estimate of the extra cost per annum to people in Scotland of the price increases in petrol and derv.

I assume that the hon. Member is referring to price increases resulting from the changes in taxation announced in the Budget and at Committee stage of the Finance Bill. It is estimated that the additional taxation borne by the residents of Scotland will be about £90 million in a full year.
