§ Mr. Patrick JenkinNo. Negotiation of the pay and conditions of service of nurses and midwives is the responsibility of the Nurses and Midwives Whitley Council. We have offered suggestions to both sides of the council regarding possible improvements in the methods of assessing appropriate pay levels. The response of the staff side to those suggestions is still awaited.
