HC Deb 09 June 1981 vol 6 c66W
27. Mr. Sainsbury

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he is satisfied with the availability of intensive domiciliary care schemes which enable the frail elderly to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

Sir George Young

It is a major policy objective to foster and develop community care for all who need it, including elderly people. A departmental study on community care, to be published shortly, will concentrate particularly on people who require intensive support if they are to remain in their own homes rather than be admitted to institutional care.
