asked the Secretary of State for Energy what subsidies there are on coke given by each of the EEC Governments: and how this compares with the United Kingdom.

The information available on State aids for coal and coke in other EEC countries cover both products without identifying specific aids for coke. In 1980 the United Kingdom gave a subsidy of £12.8 million in respect of NCB coke stocks.
