HC Deb 09 June 1981 vol 6 c76W
Mr. Philip Holland

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list in the Official Report the names of the members appointed to the United Kingdom Central Council for Nursing and Midwifery and Health Visiting, and in each case state the full-time occupation and other official appointments held.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

The names and details of the main occupations of members of the United Kingdom Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting were contained in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Preston, North (Mr. Atkins) on 21 November 1980.—[Vol. 994, c.5–8]. The chairman, Miss Catherine M. Hall, CBE, is a member of the General Medical Council. As indicated in my earlier reply, 20 of the members derive their central council membership from membership of the national boards for nursing, midwifery and health visiting. In making our appointments, my right hon. Friends, the Secretaries of State for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and I included a number of persons who are members of existing educational and regulatory bodies of the professions concerned. General information on other official appointments held by members of the central council is not held centrally.
