At 14 May 1981, however, the number of young people participating in the youth Opportunity programme in the area covered by the Brigend careers office was 524. In view of the anticipated numbers of school leavers in the coming year the Manpower Services Commission has planned for a considerable expansion in the youth opportunities programme throughout the country and will be making strenous efforts to encourage sponsors to come forward with additional places in this and other areas.
