Mr. Philip Holland

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list in the Official Report the names of the members appointed to the Advisory Committee on Microelectronics in Education, and in each case state the full-time occupation and other official appointments held.

Coll—Head of Electronics, Oundle School. Mr. D. M. Esterson—Staff Inspector of Science, Engineering and Computer Education, Inner London Education Authority. Mr. D. R. Fairbairn—Director, National Computing Centre Ltd. Mrs. R. E. Fraser—Principal Lecturer. College of St. Mark and St. John, Plymouth. MEMBERS (Departmental) Mr. M. Edmundson—Her Majesty's Inspector, England. Mr. G. Evans—Her Majesty's Inspector, Wales. Mr. M. S. Girling—Her Majesty's Inspector, England. Mr. J. C. Hedger—Assistant Secretary, Department of Education and Science. Mr. N. Morrison—Her Majesty's Inspector, Northern Ireland.

Mr. Fairbairn is a member of the Focus Committee on Information Technology Standards, chaired by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Industry, and Mr. Esterson is a justice of the peace. No other external member of the advisory committee holds any other appointment from any Minister or Government Department.
