§ Mr. Hordernasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish a table showing the level of retirement pension provided by the State, expressed in £ sterling, for a married couple, in each of the European Economic Community countries at the latest convenient date.
§ Mr. RossiInformation on the provision of retirement pensions is contained in the Department's publication "Social Benefit Tables for Member States of the European Communities: Position at 1 January 1980". A copy is in the Library of the House. This publication does not cover Greece, which became a member of the Community on 1 January 1981. The latest information I have on Greece indicates that the minimum annual pension payable amounts to 86,940 drachma (£1,009.23) plus any dependant's benefit payable.
