HC Deb 08 June 1981 vol 6 cc38-9W
Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will publish a table showing the current amounts of levy per pound charged on the importation of those foodstuffs from third countries to which levies apply.

Mr. Peter Walker

The following table shows the levies payable on 5 June 1981 for a range of foodstuffs representative of those imported from third countries. Some of these foodstuffs, however, enter at reduced or zero rates of levy under special concessionary arrangements. Corresponding levies apply to related foodstuffs (eg other cereals, poultry portions). For certain processed foodstuffs levies are charged related to the basic agricultural ingredients (eg sugar) they contain.
