§ Mr. Rathboneasked the Secretary of State for Trade what sums have been made available under item 3.5.5.1. of the general budget of the European Communities for 1981 (Grants to European Consumer Organisations) and in previous years to assist consumer organisations in the United Kingdom.
§ Mrs. Sally OppenheimThe budget of the European Communities for both 1980 and 1981 included provision for 345,000 European currency units to be available for grants to European consumer organisations. The European Commission is responsible for deciding what proportion of these sums should be paid to British consumer organisations. I have no information about actual payments to such bodies.
