§ Mr. EyreTraining is provided as a common service for the Departments of Trade and Industry. In 1979–80, 10,000 of the total staff of 16,000 in the two Departments were trained in management, job-related and specialist skills, at a direct cost of £460,000. My Department has no responsibility for any other forms of training.
