§ Mr. RifkindStatutory responsibility for the preparation of detailed civil defence plans in the Dundee and Tayside area rests with Tayside regional council. Local authorities' approved expenditure on civil defence is grant-aided at the rate of 75 per cent., and provisional outturn figures provided by Tayside regional council for 1980–81 indicate that the council spent approximately £90,000 on civil defence planning during that year.
